A "to the point"
message about taking back what the forces of Satan has stolen
through the power of God in Jesus Christ's name. Jesus
gave the church promises, and we need to recognize that and walk
in the authority that He has given to us. We are the body
of Christ, and we need to recognize that in dealing with
spiritual strongholds.
Matthew 16:16-19 “ 16 And Simon Peter answered and said,
Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus
answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona:
for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my
Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That
thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church;
and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of
heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be
bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth
shall be loosed in heaven. “
Matthew 16:18-19 (NAS) “ 18 "And I also say to you that you
are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and
the gates of Hades shall not overpower it.
19 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and
whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven."
These scriptures are both a revelation of great truth, and a
promise of spiritual authority to the church that God will back
them up as they operate as the church against the gates of
darkness. It gives us the promise of power to storm the
strongholds of the enemy!
The truth is that you CANNOT
ever avoid
spiritual conflict.
But you can make the choice of
what side that you are on and if you are going to be
an overcomer or a victim. Jesus has given to us the
promise of spiritual power to overcome
if we
walk in the place where that we can have it.
Upon this rock I will build my church and the “gates of Hell or
Hades” will not prevail against it... I give unto you the keys
of the Kingdom of Heaven...
this is the “authority” or keys that brings the full power of
Jesus’ Kingdom of Heaven to bear upon spiritual
strongholds of darkness whether we are talking about demonized
possessed or oppressed people, homes or churches that are bound
by spiritual strongholds, or communities or cities that are
under great bondages.
The DARK GATES must FALL by the power of JESUS CHRIST!
•Gates...
locked fortresses or strongholds of Hades...
•The
key to open them with the power of the Kingdom of Heaven.
•The
Kingdom of Heaven is storming the gates of Hell.
KEYS ARE FOR OPENING LOCKED GATES!
THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN OVERCOMES THE LOCKS THAT
EVIL HAS PUT AROUND THOSE THEY HAVE STOLEN!
God desires that His church becomes worshipers of God and
resisters of the Devil.
In fact, God desires us to become worshipers and commands us to
resist the Devil. He is seeking true worshipers who will
worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
John 4:23-24 (KJV) “ 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when
the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in
truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a
Spirit: and they that worship him
must
worship him in spirit and in truth. “
1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 (KJV) “ 16 Rejoice evermore. 17
Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19
Quench not the Spirit. “
God
wants us to worship the Lord
balanced in Spirit and in Truth
(the Word), and to become people of prayer who is
thankful and rejoicing in the Lord always no matter the
circumstances.
WE CAN DO THAT WHEN OUR JOY AND PEACE AND LOVE AND GOODNESS IS
BASED ON JESUS AND COMES FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT!
We become haters of sin and our relationship to sin changes.
To the truly born again, sin now is not done without guilt, but
the easy feeling that you once had is gone as the Holy Spirit
convicts you of your sin.
The more that we love God the more it creates in us a hatred for
sin and the Devil.
In fact, we are called to resist the devil and not submit to
him ever.
Ephesians 4:27 (KJV)
“ Neither give place to the devil.”
At one time, we were
a victim of Satan through sin on our way to the same Hell that
he is destined for. Add to this, we were literally on his side
against God because of the bondage of sin.
We were on the other side of that Dark Gate and the enemy held
us captive by our own sins!
But now, our relationship to God and Satan is reversed when we
are Christian Believers.
We are now
on
the Lord’s side as a Warrior of God and a good soldier of Jesus
Christ. We are the enemy of sin and Satan’s forces.
2 Timothy
2:3-4 (KJV) “ 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good
soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth
himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him
who hath chosen him to be a soldier. “
1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) “ 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the
faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in
your brethren that are in the world. “
We
are given
powerful spiritual weapons
that overcomes the enemies’ powers and plans through Jesus
Christ! God equips His spiritual army with the most
complete or
whole
armor of God.
Ephesians 6 tells us to take that whole armor of God
and
put it to work through prayer and to stand!
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (KJV) “ 3 For though we walk in the
flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons
of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the
pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity
every thought to the obedience of Christ; “
The strongholds over
your cities and schools and communities and homes and churches
all start in the first
battleground of the human mind.
Thoughts
are spiritual, and
the battleground is waged inside our minds and
when
you set people free of the strongholds of their minds, the
larger ones over areas and homes and churches start to break as
well!
FUNDAMENTAL KEY
When you took the gates of the city, you owned the city...
you had conquered the city when you had its gates...
Genesis 22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in
multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven,
and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed
shall possess the gate of his enemies; “
The Gates of Hell are in danger from the church that
surrenders to Jesus and uses these KEYS.
Folks... the power of the Kingdom is moving through His church!
It is moving through us when we are sold out to Jesus and filled
with His presence! Hebrews
12:2 “ Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our]
faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the
cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God. “
THE DEVIL HAS LOCKED PEOPLE UP
WITH STRONGHOLDS IN THEIR MINDS... IN THEIR FLESH... IN
THEIR VERY SPIRITS AT TIMES... LUSTS,
HURTS, HATRED, DRUGS, WITCHCRAFT, FALSE RELIGION, GREED,
DEPRESSION, UNFORGIVENESS-
KEEPING THEM BOUND BY THEIR OWN WEAKNESSES.
He holds people in bondage,
bringing a price of misery and death for the sinful pleasure
that he gives.
And people find themselves in bondage... not able to be free...
sometimes literally possessed by the evil that has seduced them.
But Jesus has given us the key to open the door or the gate of
their stronghold... they can be free!
The Son of God has the power to set them free... and He gave us
the power to bind and loose... and in the name of Jesus Christ,
the power to set at!
2 Corinthians 3:17 “ Now the Lord is that
Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is]
liberty. “
Acts 10:38 (KJV) “ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and
healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with
him. “
John 14:12 “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth
on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works]
than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. “
The gate is the entrance and the place that was prone to attack.
It was the opening to give you the what was inside. Jesus has
said this, I have given you the authority to the Kingdom of
Heaven, and
the
gates of Hell will fall to hold onto its goods.
You will take them down and take a spoil!
The keys open the gate! The stronghold is falling! The
demonic strongman is overcome by the Holy Spirit, and the
Kingdom of Heaven is coming to deliver those stolen and held
hostage in their sins.
Matthew 11:12 (KJV) “ And from the days of John the Baptist
until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the
violent take it by force. “
Matthew 11:12 (AMP) “ And from the days of John the Baptist
until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured
violent assault, and violent men seize it by force
[as
a precious prize--a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with
most ardent zeal and intense exertion].
”
Matthew 11:12 (Emphasized Bible) “ 12 But, from the days of
John the Immerser, until even now, the kingdom of the heavens,
is being invaded, and, invaders, are, seizing upon it.”
There is an element of violence against evil,
and there is a resistance to the Devil that we are called to as
the church. We are not to simply stand by and do nothing, but
we are to rise in the power of God and use the keys that Jesus
has given to us and set the captive free.
Matthew 12:28-30 “ 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of
God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how
can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods,
except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his
house. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that
gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. “
James 4:7 “ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the
devil, and he will flee from you. “
WE WILL TAKE A SPOIL... WE WILL SPOIL THE ENEMY’S GOODS... TIME
TO TAKE SOME LOST GROUND BACK FOR JESUS CHRIST... TIME TO SET
SOME CAPTIVES FREE...
TIME TO GIVE SOME HOPE TO SOME HOPELESS PEOPLE
