Let this mind be in you

Philippians 2:5-11 " 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; 11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father. "

The Lord kept bringing me back to this over and over today in different parts of the Word. And tonight I was sharing with someone about how sin brings a kind of insanity that bring actual irrational thought, but to the spiritually infected person, it seems quite normal them... because their thinking has been blinded by the spirit of this world.

But those who have Jesus in their lives should not be so.
Attitudes... attitudes, as the scripture that says set your affection on things above and not below.

1. Let this mind be in you which was also in Jesus Christ. You see, its all about Jesus... our love for Him... and having His presence in us.

2. First... who is Jesus Christ? You see the point being made here... the same mind that Jesus Christ had... being in the "form of God"... thought it not robbery to be equal with God. It was not robbery in Jesus' case, for He was equal with God. This makes some people quite upset, but you can see it many times when others honored Jesus as God and He took the worship... you see it in John 1:1... you see it again in examples of Jesus telling the Pharisees before Abraham was, "I am"... equating Himself as God and therefore bringing their ire as they took up stones to kill Him and He simply walked through their midst unharmed. He is the "I am"... timeless.

John 1:1 " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. "

John 1:14 " And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. "

John 8:56 " Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. "

John 20:27-29 " 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.

Hebrews 13:8 " Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. "

3. Though He was the Word... He humbled himself to become human and take on flesh... the Lord humbled Himself and became human flesh. He made of Himself no reputation, and took the form of a servant. In fact, Jesus Christ is the perfect servant... He came to save and minister (serve). In fact, He became obedient unto death.

Hebrews 2:9-10 " 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10 For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. "

Mark 10:42-45 " 42 But Jesus called them [to him], and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. "

In fact, you see Jesus making this clear when at the Passover Sedar (the Last Supper), He got down and did the work of a servant by washing His disciples feet. He was showing by example the love that He had for them and that they would have for one another.

LET THIS MIND BE IN YOU... AS JESUS CHRIST WAS A SERVANT, LET THAT SAME LOVE BURN IN YOU AND SERVE OR MINISTER TO THE NEEDS OF OTHERS. WHAT MAKES YOU GREAT IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT PRESTIGE OR POWER, IT IS WHO IS THE GREATEST SERVANT OR MINISTER TO OTHERS. THIS IS THE MIND OF CHRIST... THE MIND OF LOVE.

He loves us enough to give His life for His friends... and that same love when our love is perfected will bring that same kind of giving in us. Let this mind be in you...

John 15:12-13 " 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. "

1 John 4:7-12 " 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. "

4. ALTHOUGH JESUS HUMBLED HIMSELF, GOD THE FATHER HAS NOW HIGHLY EXALTED HIM THAT BY HIS NAME AND NO OTHER NAME MAY MEN AND WOMEN BE SAVED... IT IS AT THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST THAT THERE IS SALVATION AND HOPE.

The name of Jesus Christ... Y'shua Messias... at the name of Jesus... demons tremble and sickness falls away... and sin is cleansed out of people's lives... there is no other name like the name of Jesus Christ that carries with it the power of the Holy Spirit behind it when spoken in faith. At that name...

Every knee shall bow before the Lord Jesus Christ
Every tongue shall confess that name of Jesus Christ as Lord
Every knee... Satan's... yours, mine... every atheist will bow and confess someday that He is Lord.

You might not think that you will do it, but you will. You might not think that you will ever confess it, but either in this life in your body now... or if you don't now, when your body is resurrected for the 2nd Resurrection, you will still bow before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord! He is Lord!

Isn't it better to confess Jesus Christ now in this life... to believe upon Him and call upon His name and believe upon Him now and receive eternal life... isn't it better to believe by faith now, or have the reality of it forced upon it at your own judgment?

Hebrews 9:26-27 " 26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: "

Jesus Christ is Lord! There is no other name like the name of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:8-10 " 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:13 " For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. "

If you confess with your mouth the name of the Lord Jesus... the LORD JESUS! If you call upon the name of the Lord... calling on His name and believing upon Him brings salvation!

John 3:16-21 " 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. "

Jesus... Jesus... Jesus... at the name of Jesus Christ... there is no other name.. I love that wonderful name of Jesus Christ.
