Immanuel Church: Abortion

Note from Voice of the Watchman: I sat in church and listened to this Sunday Morning. I believe it is one of the best sermons on this subject I have yet heard. I put this on the Word to You website this morning, but wanted to share it with those of you who visit here as well. It is well worth listening to and reading. - James Coldiron

The reality is that Abortion is the dismemberment of a baby either in the womb: or in partial birth abortion; dismemberment when comes outside womb. It is the destruction of the child in the womb or partially outside. It literally ends a human baby life.

Just recently, partial birth abortion was banned by our congress although several lawmakers voted to keep it in place. It was passed and signed by the president and for now, there is a ban on partial birth abortion.

Why perform a partial birth abortion? It is easier to take the baby’s life and do less harm to the mother. It is easier to put forceps into spine, and suck out the child’s brains, and dismember the body. It is a heartless act that reflects on the condition of our society today.

There are many opinions about abortion; here are some common opinions of people:

1. I don’t know if right or wrong;

2. It is wrong, but people will do what they want

3. It’s wrong for me, but people can do what they want with their own lives

4. It is a choice between a woman and doctor. Its none of anyone else’s business.

But what does the bible say about it? What is God’s opinion?

1. To get our thinking right;

2. To teach others what is right;

3. So our behavior and thinking is right;

PROVERBS 14:34 “ RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTETH A NATION: BUT SIN [IS] A REPROACH TO ANY PEOPLE.

If it is right to ban abortion, then banning it is a righteous thing for our country to do. If we ban it, then God will exalt our nation. If abortion is wrong, then it is sin and it is a reproach to us to do it.

The way that God dealt with Israel as a nation is the way that He deals with us individually and as a nation. When Israel obeyed God’s laws they prospered. When we individually and as a nation obey; we’ll prosper!

When we disobey then the Lord will allow natural disasters and damaging weather, and famine, and war, and heartache, and slavery!

To you and me, it makes no difference what the laws are: if it is legal to have abortion, or commit adultery, or legal to use drugs, still, it is wrong for us if God says it is wrong. God’s law is higher than man’s laws. When god has spoken on a subject, it is our responsibility to know what it is and live by it;

“Wait a minute Arnold, you cannot legislate morality: you can’t pass a law and force people to do right;”

“No: but we can be salt and light. We do what we can to live a righteous life, and preserve the possibility for others to do same!”

If alcohol is legal and liquor stores on every corner, will there be more alcohol sold and more alcoholics than if it is banned and illegal: YES!!

Will we prevent it? Probably not, with our weak determination to do so, but it sure slows it down.

HOSEA 4:6 “ MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE: BECAUSE THOU HAST REJECTED KNOWLEDGE, I WILL ALSO REJECT THEE, THAT THOU SHALT BE NO PRIEST TO ME: SEEING THOU HAST FORGOTTEN THE LAW OF THY GOD, I WILL ALSO FORGET THY CHILDREN. “

My main concern is that we know the truth, and that we have the truth control our lives. Then when we stand before the lord, we will not be ashamed of the way we lived. Also, we can pray with confidence that God will hear our prayers, bless our church, children, families because we loved and obeyed him!

JOHN 8:32 “ AND YE SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE.”

But as Adrian Rogers said in our lesson Friday night: “It is not truth that makes you free, but knowing it; and knowing it means it controls your life;”

Think about this: the attack on 911 when about 5,000 people were killed and the World Trade Center twin towers were brought to the ground by the hijackers, and plane crashed into Pentagon.

Over a million jobs lost, stock market fell, and it has cost billions of dollars for security in planes and security for our borders.

The war in Iraq and Afghanistan has cost every person in this country; Agree with it or not, it has cost every person;

For same reason Israel had so many self inflicted storms in their history; they forgot God.

Why should God continue protecting a nation that wants to kick God out of everything including our schools, our courts... they want to take God’s name out of pledge, and want a separation of the church and state. They want a secular society like France and Germany. We are like a dog that bites the hand that feeds it!

PSALM 37:25 “ I HAVE BEEN YOUNG, AND [NOW] AM OLD; YET HAVE I NOT SEEN THE RIGHTEOUS FORSAKEN, NOR HIS SEED BEGGING BREAD. “

This nation is in as good shape as it is now because of god’s people: if not, our economy would be as bad as the rest of the world. But our children are growing up in a heathen land. God promises that he will not remember them if we forget him.

Ask a question; how in this world can we even expect God to bless a nation who makes big business out of killing babies in the womb? A day that goes down in infamy in this country is January 22, 1973 in the Roe verses Wade case.

This made it legal for a mother to destroy the child for up to 6 months in womb;

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy; Since Roe verses Wade case over 40 million babies have been killed in the womb of their mother. “Wait Arnold, a fetus is aborted and a fetus is not a child:”

1. THAT IS WHAT THE PRO ABORTION CROWD SAYS; THEY CALL THEM SELVES PRO CHOICE: THAT IS A LESS CHILLING TERM THAT PRO ABORTION;

2. HERE'S YOU A LESSON; GOD IS PRO CHOICE: YOU CAN CHOOSE TO BELIEVE GOD OR YOUR EMOTIONS; FEELINGS, OR SOME JERK WHO THINKS HE KNOWS MORE THAN GOD DOES;

She nor anyone else has right to destroy that life. To do so is murder: That is pretty hard; no, that is truth; hang on;

Blood of a baby & its mother does not co-mingle. The baby has its own blood separate from the mother’s. Where there is blood, there is life. Medical science picks up blood in the womb on 12^th day: God gives life on 1^st day: medical science a little behind what God knows.

WHY IS THERE SUCH A CAMPAIGN ON TO CHANGE PEOPLE’S MINDS ON THIS SIMPLE TRUTH OF LIFE AND MURDER?

Listen; you are what you eat physically; You are what you think and allow to go into your mind spiritually. WE MUST HAVE THE TRUTH, SO WE ACT ON IT; AND BE ABLE TO LIVE RIGHTEOUS LIVES;

1. WHEN A PERSON HAS AN ABORTION, IT CAUSES PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA; IF ITS MURDER, YOU CAN’T MURDER WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES;

2. THEY WANT TO GET RID OF THE GUILT; TO THE PERSON WHO HAS IT AND THE ONE WHO PERFORMS IT;

3. IT IS AN ATTEMPT TO LIVE ANY WAY YOU WANT WITHOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR LIFE STYLE;

There is a cure for the majority of the spreading of AIDS (realizing that there are completely innocent cases of blood transfusions, etc.); it’s called morality. Morality and not being involved with IV drug abuse would stop most cases.

But we don’t want that; we want to be able to violate God’s laws on morality without suffering the consequences. We want your tax dollars to go for a cure for the result of our sexual perversion and drug abuse.

Abortion is same; live immoral lives; if woman or girl gets pregnant, then get an abortion and act as if nothing ever happened.

You may forget, but God does not! There are consequences of bad behavior. You cannot get away from it.

Abortion is not about women’s rights! It’s about a multi million dollar business. Abortion is like the liquor business. There is a curse of God to those who make it, and sell it, & those who buy & use it or give it to others. I also believe there is a curse of God on those who vote for those who will propagate the wicked liquor industry.

THERE IS A CURSE OF GOD ON THOSE WHO HAVE ABORTIONS; THEY HAVE COMMITTED MURDER.

THE SAME IS TRUE FOR THOSE WHO VOTE FOR THE POLITICIANS WHO MAKE THE LAWS TO MAKE IT LEGAL.

SATAN IS A LIAR, HE IS A MURDERER AND DESTROYER; AND THAT IS WHAT ALCOHOL IS, AND WHAT ABORTION IS... ABORTION IS PURE MURDER OF THE INNOCENT.

1. PHARAOH KILLED BABIES TO TRY TO STOP GROWTH OF THE ISRAELITES; WHAT HAPPENED? GOD DESTROYED HIM, HIS ARMY, AND HIS ECONOMY and WHEN ISRAEL LEFT, THEY LITERALLY RAPED EGYPT.

2. HITLER KILLED 6 MILLION JEWS: WHY? A DEMON POSSESSED MAN WHO SAID JEWS WERE SUB-HUMAN CONVINCED A NATION TO GO ALONG WITH HIS EVIL.

THE SAME ONES WHO CALL HITLER A MONSTER TO DO THAT ARE SAME ONES WHO CALL A BABY IN A WOMB SUB HUMAN! OUR SUPREME COURT HAS RADICAL JUDGES WHO SAY THE CHILD IN THE WOMB IS SUB HUMAN.

EXODUS 21:22 “ IF MEN STRIVE, AND HURT A WOMAN WITH CHILD, SO THAT HER FRUIT DEPART [FROM HER], AND YET NO MISCHIEF FOLLOW: HE SHALL BE SURELY PUNISHED, ACCORDING AS THE WOMAN'S HUSBAND WILL LAY UPON HIM; AND HE SHALL PAY AS THE JUDGES [DETERMINE].

God says, two men get in fight; pregnant woman is hurt so that her child dies, the one who caused it is to be put to death; Life for life; God calls that baby in the womb a life; just like the man was called a life; give life for life.

ISAIAH 49:1 “ THE LORD HATH CALLED ME FROM THE WOMB; FROM THE BOWELS OF MY MOTHER HATH HE MADE MENTION OF MY NAME.

5 BEFORE I FORMED THEE IN THE BELLY I KNEW THEE; AND BEFORE THOU CAMEST FORTH OUT OF THE WOMB I SANCTIFIED THEE, [AND] I ORDAINED THEE A PROPHET UNTO THE NATIONS.

When does a person become a life? God says, before he was conceived; God knew him. If God knew him before conceived. Surely at any other stage of life, he is Jeremiah. Every conception is a child whom God knows even before that child was conceived.

PSALM 139:16 THINE EYES DID SEE MY SUBSTANCE, YET BEING UNPERFECT; AND IN THY BOOK ALL [MY MEMBERS] WERE WRITTEN, [WHICH] IN CONTINUANCE WERE FASHIONED, WHEN [AS YET THERE WAS] NONE OF THEM.

3. TO DESTROY A 6 MONTH FETUS IS SAME MURDER AS DESTROYING A 6 YEAR OLD BABY; THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE AS FAR AS THE RIGHT AND WRONG GOES.

The bible says John Baptist was filled with the spirit from the womb; the Bible says the John the Baptist; while still in the womb leaped at the salutation of Mary. He was responding to spiritual truth;

Did the child know truth? No, but the spirit of God in him knew the truth. It stimulated the child to leap for joy. It was not a blob of flesh in Elizabeth.

IN GENESIS 25; REBEKAH PREGNANT WITH TWINS: LATER WE KNEW THEM AS ISAAC AND JACOB:

God explained; 2 nations are in thee; one stronger than other and elder shall serve the younger; Talking about human beings; God knew their names; their destinies, & character; temperament, and purpose.

We are in sad shape when our nation turns from God. A Nation who departs from the wisdom and fear of God does strange things;

The same crowd that stands against the biblical command of death penalty to convicted murderers are for death penalty for a baby not wanted.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 “ WHAT? KNOW YE NOT THAT YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY GHOST [WHICH IS] IN YOU, WHICH YE HAVE OF GOD, AND YE ARE NOT YOUR OWN? “

2. IF YOU DO NOT SUBMIT TO HIM; ONE DAY YOU WILL BE SENT TO HELL BY YOUR OWN SIN.

NO ONE HAS THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO THEIR BODY: THE BODY BELONGS TO GOD WHO GAVE; WE ARE STEWARDS OF IT; ONE DAY GIVE ACCOUNT TO HIM;

Proverbs 6:16 “ These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, “

WHY? ISAIAH 10:1 “ WOE UNTO THEM THAT DECREE UNRIGHTEOUS DECREES, AND THAT WRITE GRIEVOUSNESS [WHICH] THEY HAVE PRESCRIBED;

The legislators who pass these unrighteous laws have the judgment of god upon them. We have been given a command of God to help the defenseless:

PROVERBS 31:9 OPEN THY MOUTH, JUDGE RIGHTEOUSLY, AND PLEAD THE CAUSE OF THE POOR AND NEEDY.

We are to plead the cause of the poor, needy. Who is in more need than an innocent child in the womb of a mother who wants to destroy it? How can we help? One way is not to vote for those who support it.

Time is coming; it is here; we will not have candidates on the national level who do not believe in abortion. If they believe abortion is illegal, immoral, murder, then they will not get far enough along to get to national election.

We are that corrupt and immoral in this country. It used to not be an issue because everyone believed it was wrong; now, there will be no one who is against it!

Woman lives immorally: finds another life involved; she has no right to destroy that life because it would interfere with her liberty!

The man who helped bring that child into the world should be made by law to support that child.

ABORTION IS THE SHEDDING OF INNOCENT BLOOD. IT BRINGS THE JUDGMENT OF GOD ON A LAND. GOD PROMISES TO AVENGE INNOCENT BLOOD;

WHEN CAIN KILLED ABLE, GOD SAID TO CAIN GENESIS 4:10 “ AND HE SAID, WHAT HAST THOU DONE? THE VOICE OF THY BROTHER'S BLOOD CRIETH UNTO ME FROM THE GROUND”

Yes, you can be forgiven: David was! David wanted to build a temple for the Lord though and God said, no, you can’t do it: you are a bloody man. Why? Was it because David was a man of war and had killed many men on the battlefield? Not at all:

Its because he shed the innocent blood of Uriah, husband of Bathsheba to cover his adultery;

That is as bad as a woman who says, “I will kill my baby because I don’t want to be bothered with it;”

Its as bad as a doctor who for money is willing to take the life of an innocent child.

Its as bad as a person who votes for people who support laws for murder of children.

Its as bad as those who appoints judges who will keep those ungodly laws on the books instead of declaring them unconstitutional.

PSALM 106:37 “ YEA, THEY SACRIFICED THEIR SONS AND THEIR DAUGHTERS UNTO DEVILS,

8 AND SHED INNOCENT BLOOD, [EVEN] THE BLOOD OF THEIR SONS AND OF THEIR DAUGHTERS, WHOM THEY SACRIFICED UNTO THE IDOLS OF CANAAN: AND THE LAND WAS POLLUTED WITH BLOOD. 39 THUS WERE THEY DEFILED WITH THEIR OWN WORKS, AND WENT A WHORING WITH THEIR OWN INVENTIONS. 40 THEREFORE WAS THE WRATH OF THE LORD KINDLED AGAINST HIS PEOPLE, INSOMUCH THAT HE ABHORRED HIS OWN INHERITANCE.

41 AND HE GAVE THEM INTO THE HAND OF THE HEATHEN; AND THEY THAT HATED THEM RULED OVER THEM.

Listen America; they that hated them ruled over them... that is coming to this land. The Muslims who hate us is gaining a hold in this country like never before. We think we are so smart, but when you know more than the Bible, then you have crossed over to the foolish side!

PROVERBS 14:12 THERE IS A WAY WHICH SEEMETH RIGHT UNTO A MAN, BUT THE END THEREOF [ARE] THE WAYS OF DEATH.

PROVERBS 16:25 THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMETH RIGHT UNTO A MAN, BUT THE END THEREOF [ARE] THE WAYS OF DEATH.

IF GOD SAYS SOMETHING ONCE; ITS ENOUGH; IF HE SAYS IT TWICE, YOU SURE BETTER TAKE NOTICE;

1. RESULT OF SHEDDING INNOCENT BLOOD; JUDAS SAID, “I HAVE BETRAYED INNOCENT BLOOD, AND WENT OUT AND HANGED HIMSELF”

There is a great consequence on these people. Mankind turns to alcohol and drugs; and develops emotional problems.

2. ANOTHER RESULT: One day; the abortion crowd, the homosexual crowd, the Anti-Ggod crowd will be ruling. We are going to be is such a minority that our voice will not count; we are going to be silenced;

They are already ruling; they are in the unions, the political power houses; the lobbyists, they are affecting the laws being made.

Did you know? Over 4,000 abortions occur daily:

Did you know? Your child can go to school; get a headache and the teacher cannot give your child an aspirin unless he gets parental consent.

On other hand; a young girl can tell someone she is pregnant; she can be bussed to an abortion clinic and have an abortion, kill that child, and be bussed home, and the parents never know it.

5. GREATEST DAMAGE OF ABORTION IS NOT WHAT IT DOES TO THE MOTHER OR THE PERSON WHO DOES IT, OR THE PERSON WHO MAKES THE LAW OR THE PERSON WHO VOTED FOR THE PERSON WHO MADE THE LAW;

THE GREATEST DANGER OF ABORTION IS WHAT IT DOES TO GOD; IT OFFENDS GOD: THE SHEDDING OF INNOCENT BLOOD OFFENDS GOD; AND IT DEFILES THE LAND HE HAS GIVEN US AS STEWARDS.

The doctor got out his scalpel, and said, “ it would be easier to kill this one year old baby. It would be no problem and unlike an abortion give no damage to your body.”

She yelled, “you murderer”: then Dr. explained; “ There is no difference in killing one as was in killing other. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE AGE OF THE CHILD!”

1,157,170 DEAD IN 6 MAJOR WARS, BUT SINCE ROE VERSES WADE OVER 40 MILLION BABIES HAVE BEEN SLAUGHTERED IN ABORTION MILLS.

Well, we are in an economic crisis. What would 40 million homes, 40 million cars, toasters, ovens, clothes for this many do for an economy?

We look down on Herod when he killed some babies when trying to kill Jesus. What we are doing in this country today is like Kindergarten compared to that.

Abortion is child sacrifice on the altar for convenience; murder for convenience.

1. At conception; called zygote (zy got) 23 chromosomes of each to form 46

2. At implantation: embryo (attaches to wall of uterus

3. At 2 months; called a fetus;

4. At birth; called a baby;

5. At about 15 called adolescent;

6. At 21, called an adult

Regardless of where you zero in on him, he is still a human being!

All of us have rights, but with rights come responsibility. You give your body to a man; baby results, both now have the responsibility to care for that child. You can sin, but not without paying the price. You can drink alcohol, but not w/o paying price; Dabble in drugs, bad habits, or get involved in sex but you cannot w/o paying the price.

You break the egg of an American eagle, you will be fined $ 5,000. The government says, you destroy an egg, you have destroyed an eagle. The same government says, alright to kill a baby in the womb of its mother;

Aituation: the man had syphilis, wife had TB. They had 4 children: one born blind, and one died; and one deaf & dumb, and one had TB. She became pregnant with 5^th child: what would you do? Abort? If they had, we would not have had Ludwig Van Beethoven!

Another one: Woman raped at 12, had child raised in poverty; She stole food to survive; been better to have been aborted right? Name of that girl: Ethel Waters; She has contributed so much in her life; gospel music.

Over 4000 babies each day suffer capitol punishment, but: No trial, no lawyer, no counsel before executed, and they were executed in a cruel and inhuman way.

In January 1973, 9 men robed in black issued a decree to our national shame: it is legal to kill a baby: only criteria, still in mother’s womb and find a doctor who is willing to do it; The supreme court is guilty!

ROMANS 1:31 WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING, COVENANTBREAKERS, WITHOUT NATURAL AFFECTION, IMPLACABLE, UNMERCIFUL:

WHAT ABOUT RAPE? EXTREMELY RARE A RAPE CASE RESULTS IN PREGNANCY; TAKES SEVERAL HOURS FOR CONCEPTION TO TAKE PLACE AND THE PERSON COULD GET TO A PLACE: TREATED WITH SPERMICIDE.

WHAT ABOUT IF BABY IS DEFECTIVE? WELL HOW DEFECTIVE? ONCE THE WALL IS DOWN, NO LIMIT TO HOW FAR IT GOES; AS WE HAVE SEEN.

3. WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO SAY, “I’M AGAINST ABORTION BUT WHAT A WOMAN DOES WITH HER BODY IS UP TO HER”

THAT’S LIKE SAYING, “I’M AGAINST HITLER AND HIS GAS CHAMBERS, BUT WHAT HE DOES WITH HIS GAS CHAMBERS IS HIS BUSINESS”

5. HAVE COMPASSION FOR UNWED MOTHERS; DO ALL YOU CAN TO HELP THEM MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS;

ISAIAH 5:20 WOE UNTO THEM THAT CALL EVIL GOOD, AND GOOD EVIL; THAT PUT DARKNESS FOR LIGHT, AND LIGHT FOR DARKNESS; THAT PUT BITTER FOR SWEET, AND SWEET FOR BITTER!

BOTTOM LINE; WHY DO WE HAVE A COUNTRY WHERE IF A PERSON IS AGAINST ABORTION, HE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WIN ELECTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY:

2 CHRONICLES 7:14 IF MY PEOPLE, WHICH ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES, AND PRAY, AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS; THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.
